Mr. Bailey |

Jeff Bailey is a graduate of Lawrence High School in Fairfield, Maine. After graduating from The Univeristy of Maine at Farmington in 1998, he started teaching English courses at MVHS.
After obtaining his Master's Degree in Education: Instructional Technology, Mr. Bailey decided to offer technology courses in video and broadcasting. He now teaches technology full time and offers additional courses in Computer Aided Design and Architecture.
Mr. Bailey lives in Jay with his wife and daughter. He hosts a weekly educational podcast, is invovled in community theater, and is a member of an improv comedy group |
Mr. McGinty |

Steven McGinty grew up in the suburbs of northern New Jersey. After the initial growing up part of his life was completed, he ventured into New York City and attended the School of Visual Arts. In 1987, after four years of studying and creative work, he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography.
During a photographic trip to Maine, Mr. McGinty fell in love with the state and moved there shortly afterwards. He began to study at the University of Southern Maine and received his Bachelor of Science in Art Education in January of 1994.
He began working in MSAD #43 in March of 1994 teaching at Mountain Valley Alternative. After a great fourteen years at MVA, Mr. McGinty was hired as the art and photography teacher at Mountain Valley High School for the 2008/2009 school year. When not working at MVHS, he occupies his time fishing, hunting, working on his old house, gardening, being with his family and meandering his way towards a Masters in Educational Leadership. Mr. McGinty currently resides with his family in the wilds of Sumner.

Michael M. Prescott is a guitarist, composer, arranger, producer and music educator who resides in Norway, Maine. He is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Southern Maine School of Music with a bachelor of arts degree in Classical Guitar, and Music Education. His experiences in the field of music are as eclectic as his music. As a former manager of Daddy's Junky Music in Portland, guitar instructor for the National Music Workshop, working guitarist, salesman, and audio producer, his knowledge of equipment and personal instructional strategies are fitting for his current place in Music Education. As a guitarist, his style has been formed from a broad range of
influences and musical idioms and upon listening to his original music, one can hear a variety of influences through an individual voice. Prescott is in his fourth year as the music director at MVHS and in this short time has built an incredibly eclectic music department that caters to a wide variety of student interest. Among other achievements, Prescott led students to two consecutive first place national audio engineering awards, and continues to prepare students for a variety of careers in professional music.

Mrs. Provencher is a 2002 graduate of Mountain Valley High School and a 2006 graduate of the University of Maine at Farmington. She earned a Bachelor degree in Community Health Education from UMF. In college she was a member of the field hockey team and learned the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. This is Mrs. Provencherís second year teaching at MVHS.

Mrs. Tyler attended Plymouth State College (now Plymouth State University) in Plymouth, NH. and earned a B.S. degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (outdoor ed., recreation, art). and a Masters in Education degree with certification in Physical Education. She played soccer at PSC and was captain her senior year and participated in 4 NCAA Division 3 tournaments, including 2 Final Fours. |
Mr. Papianou |

Mr Papianou has been at MVHS as a Physical Education teacher since 2001. His college experience included a BS in Outdoor Recreation/Administration from Unity College in Maine and attending University of Vermont for post graduate work and certification in Physical Education. After that, 10 years working in the field as an EMT/SkiPatroller at Attitash and Sugarbush during winters. Summers have been spent as a manager/owner of Northern Waters Outfitters in Errol, NewHampshire. The summers are spent teaching whitewater kayaking and guiding rafts full of happy, wet customers. Mr. Papianou enjoys adventures with his family, his wife, Karen Wilson is a 5th grade
teacher at Woodstock El. and their daughter, born in 2004, is reigning princess over her North Andover kingdom. Other interests include homesteading on their 1860's farm, coaching soccer at MVHS, basketball at Andover El, and working with students to pursue outdoor recreation opportunities. Future plans have Mr. "P" standing on top of the Matterhorn, kayaking the Grand Canyon, and surfing the worlds longest left hand break in Costa Rica. Mrs. Charles graduated from the University of Maine at Orono with a B.A. degree in Modern Languages. She also studied at LíUniversitÈ de Haute Bretagne in Rennes, France. Her first teaching position was in SAD 35 where she taught English as a Second Language. She then taught French for 15 years at Foxcroft Academy. This is Mrs. Charlesí fourth year at MVHS. She is married and has three children and four grandchildren.

Miss Ojeda was born and raised in Durango, Mexico. She moved with her family to her mother's hometown of Bethel in 1990 at the age of 15. Miss Ojeda is graduated from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, TX. in 2000 earning a Bachelors of Social Work Degree. She worked in Texas as a social worker prior to moving back to Maine and getting her teaching certification. She has been teaching Spanish at Mountain Valley for the past 5 years.

Heidi Broomhall is a 1990 graduate of MVHS - the first class to graduate with Mountain Valley High School diplomas. She attended the University of Maine at Farmington, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education: Language Arts in 1994. She currently holds teaching endorsements for English, French and Spanish and has also been a Teacher Consultant with the Maine Writing Project since 2004. Heidi is beginning her fourteenth year of teaching and is excited about returning home to the RIver Valley area. |
