Welcome back returning memebers...and welcome to all of our new members. We have had a couple of meetings already in preparation of Freshman Awareness. If you do not have your Peer Helpers folder on your First Class yet, it should be there soon. If not, just let me know.
Also, let me know if I have forgotten anybody !!
Freshman awareness is set for October 23 and we need to make sure we are ready.
The annual Pop-Tab Competition will be starting November 17 and running through the holiday season. We will be collecting the cans and announcing the winners (first and second places) on about January 9th.
We will be going to the homerooms to deliver the collection cans and letting students know what the competition is all about on November 12th and 13th so be prepared. Paige has started decorated some cans, but the majority of those will be done at our next meeting (which needs to be on Monday...November 10th since we do not have school on that Tuesday!!!
The winners of this year's Pop-Tab Competition are as follows:
- 1st Place by collecting ~ 44 pounds of Pop-Tabs..........Ms. Welch !!!!!!!!!
- 2nd Place by collection ~ 21 pounds of Pop-Tabs.........Ms. Provencher !!!!!!!!!!
- Overall we collected ~ 122 pounds of the little buggers, which is over 200,000 pop-tabs !! THAT IS AWESOME !!!!!!!!!
Next on our agenda is the basket raffle. we need to decide who we are going to donate the proceeds to and then get started collecting the gift certificates and/or donations from area businesses.
